About Day Away Retreats

As seemingly endless distractions compete for our attention, the intrinsic need for quiet reflection, deep breathing, silent meditation, nature immersion, and the opportunity to truly retreat grows stronger.

More and more people crave space to pause, step away, and reset. The challenge is that between work, family, and finances, it’s not always realistic to get away for a full weekend (or longer). We get it.

That’s why we created Day Away Retreats - a mini-reset button: one day of stillness, guided meditation, nature immersion, and nourishing quiet. Each retreat includes a wholesome, locally prepared meal to support your day of rest and renewal.

It’s a chance to return home refreshed, grounded, and more at peace - a single day that reminds you what it feels like to truly come back to yourself.

Our Approach

Our retreats weave together meditation, mindfulness, reflective practices, and the restorative silence and energy of nature.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Each retreat is led by experienced  meditation and mindfulness guides who create a welcoming space for all levels- whether you’re brand new or a longtime practitioner. Through guided sitting and walking meditation, mindful breathing, and moments of deep stillness, these timeless practices help restore the body, mind, and heart. Tools you can take with you well beyond the retreat to bring calm, clarity, and presence into your everyday life.

Reflect & Connect

Quiet time in nature invites us to turn inward and listen more deeply - to the wind, to the stillness, and to ourselves. Reflection happens through silence, journaling, mindful walking, and heartfelt conversation. These practices open space for gentle insight, self-compassion, and genuine connection - with both nature and one another.

Nourish

Day Away Retreats offer the chance to truly replenish - body, mind, and spirit. We nourish ourselves through the simple things: breathing space, stillness, wholesome food, and community. Each retreat is designed to leave you feeling renewed, grounded, and more at home within yourself.

Location 

Tucked quietly into the foothills just minutes from downtown Fort Collins, Primrose Studio is a hidden gem of stillness and beauty. Surrounded by meadows, pines, and wide-open sky, it offers the perfect setting for deep listening - to nature, to silence, and to your own inner voice. It’s close to everything, yet feels a world away.

Teachers

Day Away prides itself on the quality and depth of its teachers. Each retreat is guided by practitioners who bring decades of personal practice, formal training, and real-world experience to the circle.

Our teachers include seasoned meditation instructors, long-time Dharma practitioners, licensed psychotherapists, and somatic professionals who embody the practices they share. They teach with clarity, warmth, and presence, and are dedicated to helping you build, sustain, and deepen a practice that supports greater peace, connection, and wellbeing.
